Speed a Factor in Fatal Floyd Co. Crash Tuesday, State Police Say
FLOYD, Va. – Virginia State Police is investigating a crash, which resulted in a
fatality. The crash occurred Tuesday, (April 19) at 10:22 p.m. on Route 8, 2.2 miles south of Route 710, in Floyd County.
A 2001 GMC Sonoma was traveling south on Route 8, when the vehicle lost control, crossed the centerline and struck a 2019 Honda CRV which was traveling north.
Taylor Leigh Bedsaul, 25, of Floyd, Va., drove the GMC. Ms. Bedsaul was not wearing her seatbelt and died at the scene.
Thomas M. Jasikoff, 69, of Fort Myers, FL., drove the Honda. Mr. Jasikoff was wearing his seatbelt and was transported to the hospital for injuries received in the crash.
Speed was a factor in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
