Effie Arlene Clayton

Effie Arlene Clayton, age 81 of Rocky Mount died Monday, November 15, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Clayton, Sr.; son, Tommy “Ray” Clayton, Jr.; and parents, William “Bill” and Dana Penland. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Surviving are her daughter, Bobbie Jo C. Williams (Monty); grandchildren, Jamie Williams, Tommy Williams (Brandy), Brittany Arlene Williams; great-grandchildren, Blake, Hunter and Emily Raines, Anthony Mills, Bella Jo Williams, Tommy Williams, Jr. Mrs. Clayton graduated McComas High School in West Virginia. She was a member of Franklin Heights Church and Past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star, Hillcrest Chapter #159. She loved to garden, work puzzles and tend to her flowers. A private family memorial service is being planned at a later date. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
