Cable 12 Studio Temporarily Closed for Cleaning After Employee Tests Positive for Covid

REDWOOD – The Cable 12 studio in Redwood will be closed to the public through at least Friday, September 18, 2021 as the studio and all of the equipment is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected.

The closure means the station will remain on the air, however, as programming can be scheduled from employee’s homes online. There will be no Live shows such as Rise and Shine this week. The most recent rebroadcasts will be shown at the regular times on the TV side. Facebook Live broadcasts will not air.

The cleaning is necessary after an employee tested positive from COVID Saturday morning. Testing of the other employees will also take place this week. So far, one employee has tested negative, but more tests will be administered to make sure.

The Cable 12 studio closure doesn’t affect the other Shentel buildings on the campus which are used by employees only in Redwood. The Shentel Customer Service office at Rocky Mount Plaza will remain open, unless they act on their own with precautions not related to Cable 12.

It’s our goal to keep doing the job God put us here to do, and you shouldn’t notice any difference on the air other than reruns of Rise and Shine. That said, we recognize that we are a tightknit station with lots of equipment that’s used by all employees and guests. We want to put safety of our community along with our own broadcast and own families first.

The employee is resting at home with a cough and general weakness.

We ask for your prayers as we navigate this together.
