Bedford Man Arrested on Abduction, Battery, Sex Charges

BEDFORD – On August 30, 2021, Investigators with the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office arrested Michael
Shawn Parker, age 45, of Bedford, Virginia in reference to an incident that occurred at the Clayton Nature Center on August 29, 2021.

Michael Parker was charged with Abduction, Felony Strangulation, Inanimate Object Sexual Penetration, Assault and Battery on a Family Member and filing a false police report.

Parker is currently being held in the Blue Ridge Regional Jail without bond.

The investigation is continuing.
