Mildred I. Altice “Sissy”

Mildred I. Altice “Sissy”, 94, of Wirtz, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 19, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ozzie and Eva Altice; three sisters; an infant, Elizabeth Mitchell and Helen Kelly; and one brother, Wilford Altice. She is survived by two brothers, Clayton (Flora) Altice and Herbert (Estelle) Altice; nieces, Ann (Roger) Walker, Tammi (Henry) English, Cynthia (Harold) Hyler, Sonja (Keith) Hyler; nephews, Mike (Gwen) Altice, John (Stacey) Altice; and numerous great, and great great nieces and nephews. She spent her life devoted to God, her parents, family, friends and church. She worked on the family farm, was a faithful servant to her church and showed everyone that knew her unconditional love and kindness. She was a dedicated member of Red Valley United Methodist Church and was their oldest and longest living member. The family would like to thank Dr. Boone’s office, Carilion Hospice, and her special caregivers, Mary Kay, Shareka, Michelle, Leah, and Leanne. The family will receive friends at Red Valley United Methodist Church on Sunday, August 22, 2021 from 2 until 3 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 3 p.m officiated by Pastor Jae Song. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Red Valley United Methodist Church (30 Red Valley Road, Boones Mill, VA 24065) in her honor.
