Kathren Carter Shively

On Monday, July 12, 2021, Kathren Carter Shively, age 76 of Rocky Mount passed away suddenly with family by her side. Surviving are love of her life and husband of 58 years, Roger; daughter, Rhonda (James), Regina (Tim); and son, David (Jennifer). Also surviving are grandchildren, Drew (Jennifer), Derrick (Libbie), Britnee and Hunter. She also leaves behind four great-grandchildren whom she was absolutely crazy for Logan, Adalyn, Oliver, and one on the way, Easton; and sister, Nancie Blankenship (Clifford). Kathren was an incredible woman with a huge heart and bubbly personality. She was the social butterfly of her family and loved so dearly. Kathren was many things in her life but her favorite title was Mema. She was the best Mema and there was never a baby close by that wasn’t being snuggled and rocked as she sang to them. She will be missed beyond measure. Her family will receive friends Wednesday, July 14, 2021 from 6-8 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center. The funeral service and burial will be private.
