Update: Bomb Threat at Bajangles Believed to be Fake, Building Cleared
UPDATE: 10:11 a.m. – Building has been cleared, investigation still ongoing. Believed to be a false accusation call.
UPDATE: 8:47 a.m. MON – The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department is setting up a command post near the scene on Route 122. VDOT is also on the way to block the road.
UPDATE: 8:45 a.m. MON – Virginia State Police are sending special units to the scene. A bomb K-9 is also on the way.
WESTLAKE – The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a bomb threat that was called in Monday morning, according to PIO Megan Huston.
People are being asked to avoid the area, which is at 49 Lakewatch Center off of Booker T. Washington Highway (Route 122) in the Westlake community of Franklin County.
First responders are currently en route to the scene for traffic control.
