Ottis Ray “O. Ray” Prillaman, age 94 of Rocky Mount passed away Thursday, January 7, 2021, in his home surrounded by his family.  Ray was born June 5, 1926 in the Henry area of Franklin County, to the late George N. and Hester D. Prillaman. He owned and operated O. Ray Prillaman Construction Company. Ray was a longtime active member of Franklin Heights Church and a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII. In addition to his parents Ray was preceded in death by his son, Kevin Ray Prillaman; siblings, Logene Cannaday, Joe Prillaman, Morris Prillaman and Bill Prillaman. Ray is survived by his wife of 70 years, Audrey Plyler Prillaman; sons, Joey Prillaman and Marty Prillaman (Naomi); grandchildren, Davis Prillaman, Lindsey Blake (Tim), Anna Ray Prillaman (Tyler), Kevin Ray Prillaman, Rian Prillaman, Koen Arthur, Paxton Arthur and Finn Arthur; great grandsons, Emmet and Oliver Blake; daughter-in-law, Jill Prillaman; and a special employee “daughter” caregiver, Melissa Barbour. A special thank you to Carilion Hospice, Sissy Roberts and Heather Bryan. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Franklin Heights Church, Carilion Clinic Hospice, or a charity of your choice.  Graveside services will be held at Franklin Memorial Park, 3:00 p.m., Sunday, January 10, 2021 with Rev. J. Larry Holland and Pastor Bobby Young officiating. His family will receive friends from 1:30 – 2:30 Sunday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
