95-Year-Old Surprised with Parade from Fellow Firefighters on His Birthday

ROCKY MOUNT – The Rocky Mount Fire Department gave a 71-year member a surprise first responder parade Friday evening.

A Facebook Post from the Rocky Mount Fire Department stated “we are looking forward to celebrating a true hero!”
Fire crews from all parts of Franklin County joined in the parade, which started around 6 p.m. Pugh sat in a chair facing the road in front of his home on Center Street as fire engines, police, and businesses drove by, slowing down to wave and wish him a happy birthday.
