Wine Festival Cancelled This Year Due to COVID-19 Concerns

MONETA – The Smith Mountain Lake Regional Chamber of Commerce (SMLRCC) recently announced the cancellation of the 32nd Annual SML Wine Festival scheduled for September 26-27 because of concerns with COVID-19.
The uncertainty surrounding state regulations coupled with th
ability to comply with current mandatory requirements for social gatherings dictated the decision, according to SMLRCC Executive Director Christopher Finley.

“We made the difficult decision to cancel with the greater good in mind and prioritized the health and well-being of our community over the Chamber’s fiscal needs,” Finley explained in a recent newsletter.
Plans are underway for the festival to return September 25-26, 2021.
