Three Arrested in Fatal Henry Shooting
HENRY – The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department says they arrested three suspects in a shooting Monday morning in that left a man dead and another teenage family member in the hospital from gunshot wounds.
Investigators say Justin Chase Prillaman, 20, of Henry died when shots were fired into a house he was in at 4:20 a.m. Monday in the 100 block of Salthouse Branch Road in southern Franklin County. His relative, James Matthew Prillaman had to be taken to the hospital for gunshot wounds, according to Sergeant Megan Patterson with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department.
Te’Sean Markee Brooks, 19, of Hardy and Qu’Shawn Tylek Manns, 20, have both been charged with shooting into an occupied dwelling. Brooks is also charged with one count of malicious wounding, Patterson says. Brooks is being held without bond in the Franklin County Jail and Manns is being held in the Western Virginia Regional Jail in Salem without bond.
Treavon Rachez Taylor, 20, of Hardy has also been charged with robbery. He’s being held in the Franklin County Jail without bond.
A GoFundMe fundraiser has been set up online for the Prillaman’s medical bills and funeral costs. As of Wednesday afternoon, 57 people had donated nearly $3,000 of the $10,000 goal.
Investigators have not released a motive in the shooting, but continue their investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call Lt. Nolen at 540-483-6662.
