Vinton Man Fights Franklin Co. Deputies in Store While Being Arrested for Stolen Property
GLADE HILL – A Vinton man was arrested Saturday after the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office says he fought deputies, resisting arrest for possessing a stolen motorcycle.
Kenneth Michael Caron, 35 was arrested for grand larceny, auto theft, resisting arrest, two counts of drug possession and two counts of probation violation.
Sergeant Megan Patterson says deputies spotted the stolen motorcycle at the gas pumps at Glade Hill Minute Market. Inside the store, Caron was standing at the cash register. Deputies recognized him from outstanding warrants and told him to place his hands behind his back for detention. That’s when Caron put up a fight, Patterson says.
Caron was also arrested on an outstanding charge from Roanoke County for resisting an officer in March of this year. He is being held without bond in the Western Virginia Regional Jail, Patterson says.
