Suspect Sought in Attempted Robbery
HARDY – The suspect in an attempted robbery of a Hardy business Saturday night is believed to have fled on foot, according to Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Captain Megan Patterson.
The incident happened around 8 p.m. at Hardy’s Mart on Route 122 / Booker T. Washington Highway.
According to a 9-1-1 caller, the suspect, a white male dressed in all black clothing came into the store with a gun as it was being closed for the night and demanded money.
There was no vehicle present, Patterson said.
Deputies and investigators are searching the area for the man.
The sheriff’s office believes the attempted robbery is an isolated incident.
