‘Smart-2-Start’ Recruitment Fair Set for March 14 at the Rocky Mount Farmer’s Market
ROCKY MOUNT – STEP and Head Start are teaming up with the Franklin County YMCA to help you get your child registered for a number of programs for the 2020-2021 school year.
The “Smart-2-Start” Recruitment Fair will be held March 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Rocky Mount Farmer’s Market.
Parents can apply for any of three programs which include several options.
The child care option involves Franklin County Pre-K, private home care, and Early/Head Start. The home base option is for pregnant moms, infants and toddlers. The classroom option can be used to infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.
Child developmental screenings and assessments along with health screenings are part of the benefit package for signing up. The programs also serve kids with special needs.
To sign up for any option, you’ll need to bring the birth certificate, proof of address, recent income source, insurance information, and immunization information.
The event will not just be paperwork, however. Face painting, balloon animals, games, treats and giveaways will be offered at the farmer’s market.
