Bedford Co. Captain Retires After, 35-Year Career
BEDFORD – A Captain with the Bedford County Sheriff’s Department is retiring after a career that spans 35 years.
“The Bedford County Sheriff’s Office wishes to congratulate Captain Tim Hayden on his retirement today. Captain Hayden started his career with the Sheriff’s Office under Sheriff Carl Wells on July 17, 1985. Over his 35 year career, Captain Hayden worked in nearly every unit with the agency from road deputy, investigations lieutenant, and finally Captain of the Community Services Division. He wishes to thank the community and fellow first responders for the memories, (some good, some not so good) over the years. The Sheriff’s Office wants to thank Captain Hayden for his devotion to duty to the department and the community. He has always maintained a high level of professionalism and he is a true public servant in every way. THANK YOU and Best Wishes on your next chapter in life,” the sherriff’s office said in a Facebook announcement today.
Hayden started working for the sheriff’s department on July 17, 1985 and his last day was February 28, 2020.
