Witness: No Impairment After Accident or Foul Play in Death of Missing Man
FRANKLIN COUNTY – The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department says a witness drove 56-year-old Keith Perdue home following an accident on Muddy Fork Road involving Purdue weeks ago.
The witness told Franklin County Sheriff’s Department investigators Perdue didn’t appear to be injured or impaired. He drove Perdue home then returned to the wrecked vehicle to get Purdue’s house keys. The witness says he gave the keys back to Purdue and that Purdue entered his home.
The source says he isn’t a resident a Muddy Fork Road but frequents the road to visit family. Perdue told the witness his brakes had gone bad after the accident, investigators say.
Perdue was found dead Sunday night off of Muddy Fork Road, not far from his home. Investigators do not suspect foul play in his death.
Official results on the cause of death are pending from the Medical Examiner’s office.
