Wirtz Man Arrested on Heroin Charge
BOONES MILL – A traffic stop for a missing front license plate led a Franklin County Sheriff’s Deputy to around 100 small bags of heroin Saturday, January 18, according to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.
Troy J. Wickline, 25, is charged with possession of a schedule I or II drug with intent to distribute, according to Captain Phillip Young.
The deputy made the traffic stop in Boones Mill while on routine patrol on 220. The registration Wickline presented did not belong on the vehicle, though Wickline owns the vehicle.
In addition to the heroin, the deputy found dozens of needles, digital scales, and spoons. A field test confirmed one of the baggies contained heroin, Young said.
Wickline was released on $5,000 bond.
