Rocky Mount Man Found with Cocaine in Car with Juvenile


FRANKLIN COUNTY – A Rocky Mount man faces serious drug charges after a drug investigation led deputies and investigators to a vehicle in the 2800 block of Virgil Goode Highway Thursday, May 2, according to Captain Phillip Young with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department.
Robert E. Hailey was a passenger in the vehicle. Deputies recovered seven grams of cocaine on Hailey. A juvenile under the age of 18 was also in the vehicle when investigators arrived, Young said.

Hailey, 38, was charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He was released the same day on $1000 unsecured bond.
The case remains under investigation and Young says more charges may be pending.
