Rocky Mount Police Hosting Iron Dog Competition This Weekend

ROCKY MOUNT – The Rocky Mount Police Department has been selected to host the 2019 Virginia Police Work Dog Association (VPWDA) “Iron Dog Competition” on Saturday, May 4th.

Police and military canine teams from around the state will converge on Rocky Mount to compete in this years event which will feature a challenging two mile time trial obstacle course.
The day will start with the national anthem at 8:45 a.m. and participants will start in five minute intervals starting at 9:00 p.m.
You can show your support by purchasing your very own “2019 VPWDA Iron Dog” competition t-shirt to wear while you watch these canine teams battle it out on the course!
T-shirts can be purchased at the Rocky Mount Police Department, located at 1250 North Main Street, Rocky Mount, Virginia, for $15.00 (cash sales only). Adult Sizes: Small, Medium, Large, X-Large, 2-XL and 3-XL are available. Proceeds go toward supporting The Virginia Police Work Dog Association.
