Martinsville Man Charged After Breaking into Man’s Home and Shooting Him in the Head
MARTINSVILLE – Investigators have charged a Martinsville man with malicious wounding after they say he broke into a man’s home and shot him in the head.
Dennis Hall, 40, of Martinsville is also charged with armed burglary, two counts of using of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to Captain Wayne Davis of the Henry County Sheriff’s Office. All charges are felonies.
The break-in and shooting happened Monday (March 25) at 8:55 p.m. on Ashley Drive in Martinsville.
The 37-year-old victim, Daniel Brown, was taken to SOVAH Health Martinsville and was later transferred to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the head, investigators say.
Hall entered Brown’s home through a window. They have a history of arguments and confrontations, Davis said.
Hall is being held in the Henry County Jail without bond.
