Deputies Find Crystal Meth, Vials Labeled ‘Fentanyl’ in Wirtz
WIRTZ – The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department arrested three people on drug charges after investigating a call of a suspicious vehicle on Wirtz Road March 18, according to Captain Phillip Young.
The deputy that responded to the call noticed the strong smell of marijuana coming from a home in the 100 block of Wirtz Road. A search warrant led to investigators finding crystal meth, four prescription vials labeled “fentanyl”, three vials labeled Naloxone, marijuana, syringes and other drug paraphernalia. A 9mm handgun was also found.
Kristen Smith, 30, of Wirtz faces charges of possession of a schedule I or II substance, two counts of possession paraphernalia, providing a false identity to law enforcement, four counts of forging public records, uttering a public record, and three counts of revocation of a suspended sentence.
Misti Williams, 43, of Wirtz is charged with possession of meth with intent to distribute.
Andrew Overstreet, 37, of Roanoke is charged with distribution of meth, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm while in possession of drugs, and an outstanding charge of failure to appear in court.
All three were taken into custody and are being held in the Western Virginia Regional Jail without bond. Additional charges may be pending as the investigation continues, Young said.
