Brian Lavon Ensor, age 49 of Little River, SC, formerly of Boones Mill, VA passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, November 1, 2024 with his family by his side. Brian was born on September 11, 1975, in Roanoke, VA. He served six years in the U.S. Army as an MP stationed at Fort Jackson, Columbia, SC and was later employed as a Sales Manager for Bluegreen Vacations, where he developed many long-lasting friendships. His love of the ocean led him and Rachel to Myrtle Beach where he enjoyed being on their boat, fishing and cruising. He was well known amongst his friends for his famous pig-pickin cookouts and Fourth of July celebrations. Brian played a pivotal role in the establishment of the veterans program at Healing Strides in Boones Mill, VA. Later, along with his daughter, they helped establish the veteran and family program. For about six years, he was actively involved in the organization, forming a strong bond with CEO Carol Young. Throughout his time there, Brian dedicated countless hours to attending meetings, sharing his personal journey, and connecting with other veterans interested in the program. Carol often shares Brian’s inspiring story whenever the veterans program is discussed, highlighting the significant impact he had on its inception. There is an archway at the top of the hill at Healing Strides in honor of Brian and all the hard work he put in there. Brian was quick to show his appreciation to fellow service members and veterans; often stopping to thank them for their service or share stories or experiences. He is preceded in death by his father, Gerald Lavon Ensor; grandparents, James Winston and Margaret Hood Creech. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Rachel Stout Ensor; his “baby girl”, Brionna Lavon Ensor; mother, Sandra Creech Ensor; sister, Carey Ensor Hargenrader (James); nephews, Lucas and Jaxson; uncle, Wayne Creech; aunts, Phyllis Creech Meador (Jeff), Eileen Ensor, Mickey Wheeler, Linda Sue Jenkins (Ray); cousins, Christie Creech Austin (Gary), Dylan, Ryder, Justin Creech (Tiffany), Delaney, Cooper and a host of other cousins.
