Emergency Medical Technician Accelerated Course to be Offered in Franklin County

Rocky Mount, Va – The Franklin County Department of Public Safety has announced the addition of an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Accelerated Course that will be offered at the Franklin County Public Safety Training Center beginning May 11, 2020.

According to the department Facebook page, “this course is designed to provide training to prepare an individual to function independently in a medical emergency. This accelerated course will use a combination of online didactic and classroom session to provide the basic knowledge and skills needed to provide basic life support (BLS) care as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).”

The fee for the course is $570, which includes the required course text and initial testing fee. Students may be eligible for the Virginia EMS Scholarship Program to help cover the cost of the course.
