Alcohol Believed to be a Factor in Fatal Crash on Private Drive near SML

PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY – A Danville woman is dead after the car she was driving ran off a private drive on the Pittsylvania County Sunday night, state police say.

Lisa Ann Evans, 54, was driving a 2002 Lincoln Towncar was traveling west on Waterlocked Road when it ran off the right side of the road, a private drive, and hit a log, according to state police.

The crash happened around 9 p.m. but was not discovered until a hour later at 10 p.m., state police say.

Evans was taken to Roanoke Memorial Hospital where she died.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor. State police are still investigating.
