Rebecca Ayers Law, 91, of Rocky Mount, went to be with her Lord, unexpectedly, on Sunday, May 6, 2018. Raised in Glade Hill, VA, she was the daughter of
William H. Ayers and Jennie B. Maxey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bryan (Buddy) S. Law, along with her four sisters, Zelma Perdue, Era
Brooks, Edna Divers, Tressie Perdue, and one brother, Nelson Ayers. She leaves behind three children who cherished her dearly, Ronnie Law (Jamie), Susan Dudley
(Wayne), and Gary Law (Lori); and six grandchildren, who lovingly called her "Grandma Law" Andrew Law, Ronda Scalise (Mike), Kevin Law (Stephanie), Stacy Nicodemus (Ryan), Keely Colvin (Derin), and Parker Law (Ashley). Our Mom was also blessed with seven great-grandchildren, who she adored; Faith
Scalise, Jackson and Griffin Law, Jagger and Crew Colvin, and Ella and Graham Nicodemus. She is also survived by special nieces and nephews including a
supportive niece, Janice Holland. Rebecca may best be remembered by many as a long-time employee of Leggett Department Store in downtown Rocky Mount,
finishing her sales career at Heironimus in Roanoke. Rebecca was a charter member of Franklin Heights Church, and appreciated her many friendships in the church community. A favorite pastime of hers was playing Rook and she enjoyed placing high bids in hopes of getting the widow. Rebecca will be missed by family, friends, and neighbors for her caring ways, gentle spirit, and fun-loving personality.
A celebration of life will be conducted at Franklin Heights Church, 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 10 with Dr. Stan Parris officiating. Interment will follow in
Franklin Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 9 at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center in Rocky Mount.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Franklin Heights Church, 110 Hilltop Drive, Rocky Mount, VA 24151. “You left us beautiful memories, your love is still
our guide, and though we cannot see you, you’ll always be at our side.”
