James Ronnie Scott, age 79 of Rocky Mount passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at his home. He was born on July 11, 1937 to the late Louvader Bowling Scott and James Ervin Scott. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Meda S. Turner (Darrell); and one brother, Herman Scott. Ronnie was a lifelong carpenter, helping many in the community to build and remodel. He was involved with and a member of the Waidsboro Ruritan Club for years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and had a great love for his granddaughters. Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Annie Adelle Scott; three children, Wanda (Rodney), Kalvin (Teresa), Loretta (Todd); four granddaughters, Whitney, Michaela, Brianne, Chelsie; sister, Lovene Furrow (Glen); sister-in- law, Mae Scott; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 11 a.m. Saturday with Pastor Marco Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to New Life Baptist Church. Special thanks to Carilion Hospice for their care and concern.
