Traffic Stop Leads Deputies to Meth, Heroin on Wanted Man

boonesmilldrugarrestBOONES MILL - The Franklin County Sheriff's Department says a traffic stop led them to drugs and to a wanted man from Spencer last Saturday night, December 30 in Boones Mill.

Investigators say a deputy patrolling Virgil Goode Highway (Route 220) notived a red Ford pickup truck driving recklessly just south of Boones Mill shortly after midnight.

After pulling the truck over, the deputy discovered the driver, Lane E. Arnold, 33, of Spencer, VA was wanted out of Henry County on three outstanding warrants. 

When the truck was searched, investigators found a crystalline substance in a plastic bag, another baggie with a brownish powder, needles, digital scales and numerous small baggies.

The cystalline substance tested positive for meth and the brown powder tested positive for heroin. 

Arnold was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession with intent to distribute heroin. Arnold was also served on the three outstanding warrants from Henry County.

Arnold's passenger, Jennie Donley, 31, of Martinsville was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine. 

Arnold is being held in the Franklin County jail without bond. Donley is currently being held without bond in the Western Virginia Regional Jail.
