KimberlyAnnMorgan-LefeverROCKY MOUNT - A Rocky Mount woman is behind bars following a shooting at the intersection of Bonbrook Mill Road and Wirtz Road Monday, January 7, according to a news release from the Franklin County Sheriff's Department.

Investigators say Kimberly Ann Morgan-Lefever, 45, has been charged with malicious wounding after officers responded to the intersection around 3 a.m. Monday to a report of someone with a gunshot wound.

Deputies say an argument between Morgan-Lefever and a 47-year-old man led up to the shooting. Morgan-Lefever shot one round which struck the man in the hand and then grazed his head. Investigators say it was Morgan-Lefever who called the report in.

The victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Morgan-Lefever is being held in the Western Virginia Regional Jail without bond.

The case remains under investigation and additional changes may be pending, according to Captain Phillip Young with the Franklin Co. Sheriff's Department.
