Rocky Mount Man Arrested for Stealing Ammunition, Cigarettes from Two Callaway Businesses

ROOPCALLAWAY - A Rocky Mount man is behind bars in the Roanoke City Jail facing two felony counts of burglary and grand larceny each after the burglaries of two businesses in Callaway, the Franklin County Sheriff's Office says.

Tommy Roop, 28, was indicted on the felony charges by a grand jury in Franklin County Circuit Court. 

Investigators say a gun, ammunition, cigarettes, hand tools and electronics were stolen from the A & A Market and the Auto Discount Center in Callaway. Deputies began the investigation on August 23.

Roop is being held without bond.
