Sheriff's Office Investigating Attempted Murder at Ferrum Minute Market

BOBBY CLEVELAND HAULSEYFERRUM - A Henry man faces a felony charge of attempted murder and one felony charge of malicious wounding following a scuffle at the Ferrum Minute Market last Saturday night around midnight, according to Captain Phillip Young with the Franklin County Sheriff's Department. 

Deputies responded to the store to investigate a call of shots fired just before midnight, Young said.

Gerald Lee Young, 32 had apparently been stabbed in the back, Young said. Witnesses said the suspect had also fired in the direction of Justin Cordero Bell, 31. Further investigation reviealed that Young had been stabbed earlier in the evening at a home in the 9400 block of Franklin Street, Young said. Both victims are from Ferrum.

The suspect, Bobby Cleveland Haulsey, Jr., 47, of Henry fled the scene, but arrested on September 17. He is currently being held without bond at the Western Virginia Regional Jail.
