Boones Mill Apple Festival Slated for Sept. 22

BOONES MILL - The 41st Apple Festival will feature fan favorites such as a bouncy house and a tractor pull by the Blue Ridge Mountain Garden Tractor Pullers.

This year’s festival will also have a cornhole competition and a flatfooting contest as well as performances by several bands including Root2Music, Kelley Moore Band, Sweetwater Fireball Band and Too Young Too Old.

The Old Dominion Cloggers, dancers from the Blue Ridge Performing Arts Academy, Franklin County Marching Band, Ferrum College March Band and fiddling soloist Cheyenne Grantham will also be performing. 

Leading up to the Apple Festival will be the Miss and Little Miss Apple Festival pageants. The pageants will be on Aug. 26 and 2 p.m. at Boones Mill Baptist Church.

The 2018 Apple Festival will be held on Sept. 22 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. This year parking will not be permitted on U.S. 220. Instead, parking will be available on town property near the farmer’s market on Depot Drive and at Boones Mill Baptist Church. Shuttles will available before, during and after the event to bus attendees from the parking lots to the festival.
