Local Law Enforcement Participates in Drug Take Back Day

Saturday, April 28th was Drug Enforcement Administration Prescription Take Back Day nationwide. The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office participated at the Westlake Sub-Station and Ferrum College, while Rocky Mount Police Department was at the local Walmart. At the end of the afternoon, all medications were delivered to waiting DEA agents in Roanoke who were responsible for collection, recording and weighing the items from all participating law enforcement agencies in the area. A grand total of 175.1 pounds was collected by the Franklin County Sheriff's Office.
