ROCKY MOUNT - Rocky Mount Police say they continue looking for a person they say may have fired a gun during a fight Tuesday morning, according to PIO Matt Hankins.

Officers respoded to reports of a fight in progress at 11:14 a.m. Tuesday, Hankins said in a press release. They found a witness with a fresh wound to his hand. Although there was a report of a gun being shot, Hankins said no one was wounded from the shot itself.

Police officers found a beige SUV on Woodland Drive where the suspect that allegedly fired the gun was seen running.

The seach continues for the suspect, Hankins says.

The witness was treated on the scene for the wounds to his hand.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Rocky Mount Police Department at 540-483-9275.
