ROCKY MOUNT - A Ferrum man will spend five years behind bars after being convicted on drug charges in Circuit Court Monday.
Michael Albert Koning, 52, was charged with manufacturing and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine in August of 2017.
Koning was sentenced to 20 years on the charges, 15 of which will be imposed as probation.
"This case is a reminder of how much work goes into a drug investigation and the manhours that are involved in a case," Outreach Coordinator H.L. Nolen said in an e-mail Tuesday.
