Rocky Mount - The Franklin County Division of Tourism & Film is pleased to announce the availability of a program guide to The Crooked Road‘s Third Annual Mountains of Music Homecoming celebration. The 76-page guide can be picked up at seven convenient locations. These are free while supplies last.

The signature regional event will be held June 9-17, 2017.  This program is an exciting opportunity for the communities in the region to showcase and celebrate those community assets they are most proud of and want to share with visitors, such as traditional music, crafts, history, and outdoor recreation offerings.

Franklin County will lead off the regional event by hosting the kick-off concert on Friday, June 9 featuring an international lineup of interpreters of ballads and traditional songs. The Harvester Performance Center will showcase bluegrass on June 13 with Lost & Found and the New Standard Bluegrass. Cultural Experiences in Franklin County include the Rocky Mount’s Third Annual Court Days…Making Music and Memories, “Picking on the Porch” and tours at the Jubal Early Homeplace, and four events, activities and events at the Blue Ridge Institute & Farm Museum.

As a gateway to the Crooked Road, Franklin County is the eastern anchor to this spectacular regional event. We are literally opening the front door for visitors to savor the flavor that is truly Franklin County and Southwest Virginia.
