BOONES MILL - State police have charged a Christiansburg man with failure to drive on the right side of the roadway following a crash that backed up traffic for miles near Boones Mill Tuesday.
According to state police, Anthony Wright, 39, of Salem was traveling north on 220 when the 2007 Freightliner tractor trailer he was operating ran off the left side of the road and overturned. The crash happened around 5 a.m. at Naff Road and 220.
Wright was wearing his seatbelt and was not injured in the crash.
The left lane of 220 was closed as crews worked to clear the wreckage, backing up traffic during the morning commute. Many people said via social media that it took over an hour to get through the traffic.
