Homicide Suspect Sought in Martinsville

MARTINSVILLE – January 25, 2021, at approximately 1:47 pm, the Martinsville-Henry County 911 Center received a call that an individual had been shot at 200 Lakewood Park Drive, Martinsville, Virginia.

When deputies arrived on scene at approx. 1:52 pm, they found Jeremiah Jerron Turner, 20, of 200 Lakewood Park Drive, Martinsville, Virginia, deceased inside the residence.  It appears Turner suffered multiple gunshot wounds.  He was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the Western District of Virginia, where an autopsy will be performed. 

Through the course of the investigation, it is believed that a white male came to the home and knocked on the door, the resident allowed him to enter the home.  After entering the home, he was greeted by the victim, and the two of them went into a bedroom.  Shortly after entering the bedroom, multiple gunshots were fired, and the suspect fled the home on foot.  The suspect is described as a white male, wearing a hat, flannel shirt and jeans.

           The Henry County Sheriff’s Office would like to encourage the public to come forward with any information they may have on this case.  This investigation is ongoing, anyone having information regarding this homicide is asked to contact the Henry County Sheriff’s Office at 276-638-8751 or Crimestoppers at 63-CRIME (632-7463).  The Crimestoppers Program offers rewards up to $2500.00 for information related to crime.  The nature of the crime and the substance of the information determine the amount of reward paid.
