Rocky Mount Elementary to Returns to Virtual Instruction Through January 26th

ROCKY MOUNT – Rocky Mount Elementary School will temporarily go to all virtual instruction starting Friday, January 15th due to a confirmed outbreak of Covid-19 at the school, according to Superintendent Dr. Bernice Cobbs.

Below is correspondence that was sent to families.

Dear Franklin County Public Schools Community: 

Due to a confirmed outbreak of Covid-19 at Rocky Mount Elementary, it will be necessary for us to close Rocky Mount Elementary and initiate all virtual instruction from Friday, January 15, 2021, through Friday, January 22, 2021.  Due to a teacher workday on Monday, January 25th, students will return to a normal schedule on Tuesday, January 26, 2021. January 26th begins the new 4-day onsite instruction: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.  

During this closure, the following procedures will take place. 

  1. The building and buses will be deep cleaned.
  2. Food will be available for outside pick-up on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m..
  3.  Students will receive virtual instruction.
