Motorcyclist Killed in Henry Co. Crash

HENRY COUNTY – A Danville man has been charged with failure to yield the right of way in a crash that killed a Spencer man Saturday.

State police say David Wayne McMillan, 59, died when the driver of a 2019 Ford Edge was making a left hand turn onto Route 58 from Preston Road when it struck the motorcycle. The driver of the Edge, Robert Handy, 73, of Danville, was charged with failing to yield the right of way, state police say.

McMillan was wearing his helmet. Handy was wearing his seat belt and was not injured. Handy’s passengers, Margeret Handy, 73, and David Handy, 46, were injured and taken to a nearby hospital.

The crash happened at 11:55 a.m. Saturday and remains under investigation.
