Beagle Rescued by Franklin Co. First Responders After Being Trapped Underground

FORK MOUNTAIN – A senior beagle and his owners in the Fork Mountain area of Franklin County had a long day Monday after the dog became trapped in an old abandoned vehicle partially buried underground.

The beagle, “Henry”, was chasing rabbits when he became tangled in the car’s metal parts.

Franklin County Animal Control was called to help initially. But they needed more help. That’s when the Fork Mountain Volunteer Fire Department and Franklin County Public Safety Medics joined in the rescue.

First responders had to cut several metal parts to rescue Henry.

In a Facebook Post, the Franklin County Department of Public safety says “Thank you to ACO B. Lamm, ACO J. Custer, ACO C. Brooks, Franklin County Public Safety Med 1-8, Doug O’Neal, and Fork Mountain Fire Department Volunteers for helping Henry.”

Henry could be seen in pictures safe, but tired.
